The Road Map and its Implementation

During the 2018 Workshop in Brest, input for a road map helping to address the problem of plastics in the ocean was collected in a participatory effort. This road map was further developed during the 2019 Workshop in Brest. The focus of the road map is on six months, two years, and five years goals. The resulting road map indicates four main themes: community building, observation and monitoring, mitigation plastics and reducing its presence, linking data and knowledge to actions and informing governance. Progress has been made in the implementation of several of the items included in the road map.
